Nottingham Forest were deducted 4 points
The Guardian first broke the news that the Premier League team Nottingham Forest had been fined by the Premier League officials for deducting 4 league points for violating the Premier League's PSR (financial sustainable development) rules. Premier League officials will announce the decision later on Monday and Forest are expected to appeal.
After 29 league rounds, Nottingham Forest ranked 17th with 25 points, 3 points higher than Luton in the relegation zone. After deducting 4 points, they will swap places with Luton and officially fall into relegation.
This is the second time Premier League officials have deducted points this season. Everton was previously deducted 10 points for the same reason, but after appeal, it was changed to 6 points.
