Douglas Luiz is suspended due to a countdown
Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz received his 10th yellow card of the season in the last game and will miss the game against Arsenal due to accumulated yellow card suspension.
In the 7th minute of stoppage time against Brentford, Douglas Lewis was shown a yellow card for a foul.
If he can hold out for a few more seconds without being booked, he will not face a suspension even if he receives his 10th yellow card of the season against Arsenal, as that would be Villa's 33rd of the season league match.
Luiz already served a one-match suspension in December for yellow card accumulation, when he racked up five warnings ahead of Villa's 19th league game of the season. According to live reports, he has received three yellow cards in his last four Premier League games.
Luis has contributed 10 goals and 10 assists this season. The influential midfielder is currently one of the candidates for Villa's Player of the Season. His absence will be a major loss for Villa.
Villarreal currently ranks fifth with 60 points in one game, and Manchester United ranks sixth with 49 points.
